Our Story

Kokoro Recovery was never part of a grand business plan. It wasn’t something we set out to create years in advance. In many ways, Kokoro came together naturally, through the right people crossing paths at the right time, guided by a shared desire to help others and a belief that everyone deserves a second chance.

The word Kokoro is a Japanese word that represents the heart, mind, and spirit working together as one. When we first heard the name, we knew it perfectly reflected the environment we wanted to create—a place where healing comes from within and where recovery is about much more than sobriety alone.

The journey of Kokoro would not have been possible without the incredible people who helped bring it to life.

Christopher brought his passion, dedication, and commitment to helping others. His belief in creating a supportive and structured environment became one of the foundations of what Kokoro stands for today.

Vinsent played an equally important role in helping shape the vision and guiding the path forward. Through his experience, encouragement, and genuine care for the recovery community, he helped transform an idea into a reality.

What makes Kokoro special is that it wasn’t forced. It wasn’t planned. It happened organically. One conversation led to another, one opportunity opened the door to the next, and before we knew it, we found ourselves building something bigger than ourselves.

Looking back, we truly believe God had a hand in every step of this journey. He placed the right people in our path, opened doors when they seemed closed, and guided us toward a mission we never expected but are grateful to serve every day.

Today, Kokoro Recovery is more than a sober living home. It is a community built on compassion, accountability, respect, and hope. Located on a beautiful one-acre horse property, Kokoro provides a peaceful environment where individuals can focus on healing, personal growth, and building a strong foundation for the future.

Our mission is simple: to create a safe and supportive home where people can recover, rebuild, and rediscover the best version of themselves.
